Certificates are presented to talented Senior High School students
in recognition of creative talent demonstarted in Art, Dance, Drama,
Literature and Music. An engraved Jefferson Cup is presented to the
student who is the outstanding creative senior student.
LUCILLE CAUDILL LITTLE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Financial scholarship grants are made to deserving young artists in the
five artistic disciplines. Recipients are selected by member nominations
at the discretion of the Kentucky ChapterŐs Executive Board.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
Recognition of exceptional motivation and courage is awarded to young
artists who overcome great difficulties in pursuit of artistic development.
Nominations from members, community, friends or family are all considered.
OUTSTANDING ART EDUCATOR AWARD
This award was instituted in 1998 to recognize and reward the work
of dedicated mentors and teachers of young artists. recipients are selected
by an NSAL nominating committee.
THE KATHERINE CALDWELL MEMORIAL AWARD
This award honors the memory of Kentucky Chaopter member Katherine
"Kitty" Caldwell, who was a faithful and generous patron of the arts in
Lexington. Kitty attanded as many performances of !
all the arts that she
possibly could, and gave great encouragement an
d support to young artists.
The award is a scholarship to the Lexington Shakespeare FestivalŐs
Apprentice Program for a deserving apprentice actor.
ARTIST PROMOTION
Performance opportunities in a variety of formats: showcases,
gallery displays, and concerts provide a way to encourage and support
young artists. NSAL Kentucky strives to provide a variety of resources,
networking venues and mentorship possibilities to the developing artists
of the Commonwealth.
BALLET UNDER THE STARS
A young dancer in the Pre-Show of this annual production by local and regional ballet dancers is awarded an Apparel Scholarship at a local store. This is in recognition of this developing artist's talent and hard work.
