NSAL Members combine their efforts to meet goals, share personal experiences, give freely of time, encourage and stimulate young artists and serve as art advocates in our communities. In doing so, NSAL is actively improving and enhancing everyday lives by providing ongoing support to artists and by increasing art appreciation in our communities.
Professionals in the following arts areas may apply for membership.

ART:
Administrator, architect, cartoonist, ceramicist, craftsman, critic, designer, illuminator, illustrator, instructor, painter, photographer, sculptor, curator, installation art, museum director.

DANCE:
Administrator, choreographer,
critic, instructor, performer.

LITERATURE:
Compiler, critic, editor, instructor, lecturer, librettist, librarian, publisher, researcher, translator, writer, novelist, poet.

DRAMA:
Actor, critic, designer, director,
instructor, playwright, producer,
stage manager.

MUSIC and MUSICAL THEATRE:
Arranger, composer,
conductor, critic,
instructor, performer, administrator, choral director, lyricist.

PATRON OF THE ARTS: An individual who has consistently encouraged and supported the arts — particularly young talent in the creative and performing arts.
