Presidents Message:

For over half a century it has been the mission of NSAL to:
Discover talented young artists at the beginning of their careers.

Award excellence
by granting awards for competitions in art, dance, drama,
literature, music and musical theater.

Create opportunities
for career development and expression in literature and the visual and performing arts.

One of NSAL’s objectives is to encourage higher standards of professional ethics. We also seek to promote a greater public interest in the arts. We want to encourage and assist young artists by giving scholarships and awards for their artistic endeavors.

The members of the Clearwater/Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Society of Arts and Letters are or may have been engaged professionally in the creative arts. Many members have training or competence in a branch of the creative arts and have sponsored or are sponsoring the work of artists. This group gives unselfishly of their time, money and expertise to assist young aspiring artists in all fields of the arts. The Chapter annually awards an organization or individual making an outstanding contribution in support of the arts.

In 2008, the Clearwater/Tampa Bay Chapter will be holding a local competition for Voice for the ages of 20-32 for all voice types.  The Winston Scholarships are open to young competitors for the ages 16-22 in the categories of Voice and Art.
