Washington, DC — Sept. 25, 2019 – The National Society of Arts & Letters has awarded its 2019 drama competition prizes to seven winners, one of whom is Juilliard School graduate student, Hayward Lord Leach. Leach, a third-generation Brooklynite, received the fourth-place $7,000 Austin Hay Memorial Award.

He was selected to represent the NSAL Greater New York Chapter nationally after winning first place in its own drama competition.

“Receiving an award from NSAL has allowed me to approach my final year of graduate school with a peace of mind, allowing me to focus more deeply on honing my craft, as I venture to soar to new heights,” said Leach. “I am honored by the financial and personal generosity of the NSAL.”
